Rioja – Larimer Square

Named after the famous Spanish wine-producing region, Rioja is considered one of the best restaurants in Denver, and for very good reason! Rioja owes its reputation and success to the culinary genius of Executive Chef / owner Jennifer Jasinski and restaurateur / owner Beth Gruitch. Winner of numerous culinary awards, Jasinski designed Rioja’s menu to incorporate a tasty combination of rustic Mediterranean flavors, local seasonal fresh market and organic ingredients, and an array of extraordinary dishes. Inspired by European trattorias and bistros, all the pasta is handmade! The presentation of the food is truly artistic and as pleasing to the eye as it is to the palate. Although a favorite is hard to choose, on our list of must tries are the artichoke tortellini with goat cheese and artichoke mouse, tuna tartar and sashimi with marinated apple fennel and the black truffle gnocchi with exotic mushrooms. To compliment Jasinski’s creative culinary brilliance, co-owner Beth Gruitch uses her extensive sommelier training to pair each dish with just the right wine. Needless to say Rioja has an extensive international wine list with a special selection of Spanish wines and sort after labels.
