Mucho Ultima Mexicana
(903 Manhattan Avenue, Manhattan Beach) One block from the beach on swanky Manhattan Avenue there is a Mexican restaurant that words cannot describe. Trust me: you’ve never had Mexican like this before!  The space has a cool, hip feel with gi-normous booths, and dim lighting. The staff is courtesy, service is top notch, and Chef John Butler’s creations inspire. And if you’re in the mood for a little tequila tasting education-or just drinking-look no further.

If you like sweet-try their new cotton candy mojito. The presentation is lovely: hand spun cotton candy in a martini glass-with mojito poured over, as it melts the cotton candy.  The guacamole was to die for, and if you like “smoky” flavored salsa, you’ll be in heaven. Try the made to order churros or the Frozen Chocolate Soufflé  with flambéed bananas, and the BEST house-made peanut butter ice cream -made with nitrogen. Mucho Ultima Mexicana is owned by Mike Zislis -who also owns Rock N Fish and Shade Hotel. Be sure to check out our podcast interview with Mike on Shade Hotel in our archives.
