Most people are wanting to be a bit healthier these days.  Some test out a plant-based diet while others shoot for Meatless Mondays.  It is way easier to find better for you food alternatives now compared to a few years back when most things tasted like cardboard.   If you are looking for plant based, vegan, gluten free and other healthy lifestyle options then we have you covered with our list of plant based snacks and desserts.

Here are our journeyPod Picks for Healthy Plant Based Food products we know you’ll enjoy just as much as we do:

Jack and Annies

These plant based breakfast sausage links taste just like their traditional pork based peers with a little hint of maple syrup.  It’s hard to eat just the 3 links called for on the box per serving and the kids could eat a whole box in one sitting lol.  They also make Buffalo Chicken Nuggets that are tasty as well.

JUST Egg

We love cheezy eggs and with plant based eggs from Just Egg we get all the comfort food feels and tastes we grew up on without any cholesterol.  Yes, they do pair nicely with Jack and Annies vegan breakfast sausages.

Wicked Kitchen

These 2 brothers are badass chefs that just happened to do vegan and plant based food.  It is no nonsense with bold flavors just like they offer in their Wicked Cookbook which features the blood of a beet splashed all over the front cover.  The talented Sarno brothers offer vegan dairy free ice cream + a variety of frozen plant based meals from the cookbook.

TreatSwitch Fudgy Chocolate Brownies

We love these SuperFood Desserts that are vegan, gluten free, nut free, keto and paleo friendly.  Somehow they have no added sugar <1g of sugar total and a whopping 12g of SuperFoods + 7g of veggies you cannot taste.  Another big winner with the kids and adults in the crew.

Louisville Vegan Jerky

We love the smokiness of this jerky which has flavors from your fave BBQ joints across the South.  The smokey Carolina BBQ flavor is our favorite but they have a wide variety.

Pan’s Mushroom Jerky

Sticking in the salty snack section we love the meaty texture of this jerky along with the Thai flavors.  After they appeared on Shark Tank it is hard to keep these in stock.

Akua Krab Cakes

We also call them Crabby Patties in our house and they are a big hit.  Add some additional seasonings to your own liking but we have enjoyed some kelp or seaweed to amp up the taste of the sea.  They have good consistency and their veggie burgers are solid too.

Credo Queso

Vegan and dairy free cheese is a tough business as the flavors are not often there.  But Credo has captured that creaminess you crave from a Queso and done it without dairy nor soy nor gluten nor nuts.  They offer medium and spicy and even the kids enjoyed this one.  No need to miss out on the fun for your next Taco Tuesday.

Follow Your Heart Feta

Mix these crumbles into your next Greek Salad and you won’t hardly be able to tell the difference between the vegan dairy free feta cheese crumbles perfected by Follow Your Heart and the regular dairy kind.  They also offer other flavors including slices of Smoked Gouda and Provolone that jazz up any sandwich.

Hippeas Puffs

Cartman from South Park loves his Cheezy Puffs and now you can too without all the dairy.  We love their vegan white cheddar which is sometimes at Costco in the big Momma bag for late night munchies.

Plant Snacks

These guys make a few types of gluten free and vegan chips.  We love the beet and vegan goat cheese chips and the SuperSeed mix.  Great for allergy friendly snacking without losing the taste you want.

We hope you get a chance to try out these plant based desserts and snacks yourself.
